Have you seen my recipe post on Purple Sweet Potato Dessert Cup? If so, you know that purple is one of my favorite colors. And after seeing all the Easter decorations in stores, I was just craving for a refreshing purple and yellow smoothie!
Wait! I don’t have any purple sweet potato in the fridge! What should I do? Thanks to some natural food coloring powders that are always in my fridge, my taste and visual cravings could be satisfied!
This refreshing creation is a simple combination of banana and mango smoothie — with the banana portion masked by some natural food powders. Playing with natural food powders just brings me back to the days when I used to paint. I look forward to creating more colorful sweet treats to share with you all!
Here’s the recipe: 2/3 cup of frozen mango, 2/3 cup of frozen banana, 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons of Silk vanilla soy milk, and 1 teaspoon of Suncore Foods dragon fruit powder and blue butterfly pea powder mixture*
- Blend together 2/3 cup of frozen mango, 1 tablespoon of Greek yogurt, and 1 tablespoon of soy milk
- Pour mango smoothie into cup
- Blend together 2/3 cup of frozen banana, 1 tablespoon of Greek yogurt, and 1 tablespoon of soy milk
- Add 1 teaspoon of dragon fruit powder and blue butterfly pea powder mixture into banana smoothie
- Pour banana smoothie into cup with mango smoothie
- Top the smoothie cup with some fresh mangoes
Tips: Mix together some dragon fruit powder and blue butterfly pea powder in a separate bowl to achieve your desired purple color
