Spring is just around the corner. When I look out to our garden, the cherry trees are blossoming. I love these delicate pink flowers that filled our views with memories of our trip to Kyoto.
When I think of Kyoto, I always think of the delicious cuisine the city offers. We have enjoyed some of our best culinary experience there, including a kaiseki feast at Kikunoi. The 12-course meal includes a unique sakura (cherry blossom) sake made in-house. With all these beautiful and delicious memories in mind, I made these matcha (green tea) panna cotta to satisfy our sweet tooth.
A dessert would not be complete without a delicious wine pairing. For these creamy panna cotta, I chose a half bottle (375ml) of 2016 Sauternes by Chateau Haut Bergeron that I picked up from Costco. At an affordable price point, this wine fills your glasses with sweet honey and citrus flavors. Next time you crave for some light creamy desserts and wine, give this pairing a try!
