I first met the Carrara brothers at a bridal show in 2012. They were promoting their new venture, Carrara Pastries — an authentic Italian bakery. I vividly remember the croque-en-bouche on display was both eye-catching and mouth-watering!
Having tasted the delicious Carrara profiteroles at the show, my husband (then-fiance) and I visited the original Carrara Pastries in Moorpark. The brothers welcomed us with irresistible sample pastries. Without a doubt, we placed an order for our dessert table at our wedding rehearsal dinner.
During this Thanksgiving vacation, I brought my kids to visit Carrara Pastries at Agoura Hills and Moorpark. Since my last visit, Chef Damiano reached celebrity status through Food Network’s baking competitions! Despite their celebrity, their staff was modest and friendly. Their pastries are still as delicious as I remember. On top of that, we enjoyed some super tasty Fettuccine Alfredo with Meatballs and Grilled Salmon Sandwiches from the Carrara Kitchen. I am so happy for the Carrara brothers — may their success continue!
Everything we had during this visit was delicious but here are our favorites:
- Crostatine di Frutta
- Cannoli alla Ricotta
- Frittelle
I highly recommend visiting Carrara Pastries when you are in Southern California!
